CEO Rod Ferguson answered this question in an interview with TechRadar. “When we started, we really wanted to establish ourselves in a real and honest way,” says Ferguson. There was a feeling of “wanting to have a mini-animal” and we had fun too. In a sense, we wanted Diablo 4, a revival of our franchise, to come out in an orthodox and established way,” continued the Blizzard producer. In other words, it does not fit into a vision of the gothic world. There is the same problem with the "big wings", which would have seemed strange in space.

But I never say absolute. Rod Ferguson does not deny the possibility of this additional element in future updates. In particular, some of the comrades who appeared in Diablo III fit perfectly into the film's worldview.For example, a catfish, a spider, a bat, etc. could easily be incorporated into this title. Rod Ferguson explained that the introduction seemed too early for the first season to justify himself.

In the meantime, players will play in Diablo 4's next expansion, Vessel of Hatred. Publication in late 2024, heralding the re-emergence of Mephisto, the father of Lilith, as the "King of Hate". Clusters close to the jungle of Trajan also appear as a new exploration zone.
